Well, we made it as far as Dogon Country...

I'm back from Mali and heading back to village today. We had an amazing time and came back with lots of good stories, which I'll have to share with you next time I come to town. In the mean time, I've uploaded some pictures to the Picasso site so look at those when you get a chance :)

Don't forget to vote! Miss and love you guys.

Love, Court

Hi Courtney,
Aunt Kay here, missing you and so inspired by all of your awesome work...and photos...and stories.
We are all here in big D--Nancy passed so peacefully and for that we are so thankful. Her service yesterday was simply a beautiful tribute to a special and wonderful sister...and soul.
I hope you can visit us up in Ann Arbor when you next return to the states...U of MI needs YOU!...and so do we!
Much love,
Aunt Kay

Hello. I was wondering if you could answer a question for me... my wife used to live in the Gambia during a Peace Corps stint. While she was there, apparently one of the main staples of her diet was tuna-fish mixed with some seasoning called "maggi" or "magi". I would like to surprise her sometime with that seasoning, and was wondering if you know exactly what the actual name/product is? Or who makes it? I'd greatly appreciate any help! Thanks so much!

Zak

Dear Zak, what you are refering to
is a little cube of MSG that is added to practically EVERY dish in Gambia. The brand name is MAGGI and I've included a link in case you do decide to surprise jump start her taste buds (and her cholestorol levels). (As a health volunteer...) My suggestion: order the cubes and show her first, before adding the additive. My fav spicey alternative? Tony Chachere's Allspice seasoning. All the taste, none of the MSG. And props for being such a thoughtful husband!

Take care,
Courtney
